Police order extra patrols amid fears of KKK march

Police in Cedartown ordered extra patrols amid fears the Ku Klux Klan would march through the west Georgia city after a recent slaying.

Assistant police Chief Jamie Newsome tells CBS Atlanta that police have been out in force this week.

Newsome says police wanted to send a message to the community that they won’t tolerate violence.

Police say they received numerous calls this week reporting that the KKK was planning a march through the area where Elizabeth Hutcheson, a 27-year-old Domino’s Pizza driver, was killed a week ago while delivering a pizza.

#Fox 5 Atlanta reports that Hutcheson, a white woman, was stabbed more than 50 times. Police say they arrested two teenagers, at least one of whom is black.

#Cedartown is about 60 miles northwest of Atlanta.
